Amenities for the 41st Street project included a large cafe that serve as nourishment and touchdown for both staff and patients as well as conference rooms to support the building and the public for outside events. The existing building lobby was refreshed with new furniture as well as a new monumental stair that connects the second floor amenities to the building lobby space, contributing to NYULH’s brand presence on 41st St.

The stair between the building lobby and the second floor cafe was designed to integrate seamlessly with existing lobby finishes and fit between existing structure with surgical precision. The design uses reveals between basalt stone treads and risers to create subtle definition and contrast. The result is an active, bustling public space that promotes movement and social cohesion from staff and visitors alike.
